I recently removed the starter and had it checked at shop..its trash. Order a new one on line. When I removed it the bike was on the center stand. I now needed to move the bike and tried to put old starter back in. Wasn:t having any luck right off. So moved the bike and put it on the side stand. Next thing I know oil pouring out the opening...is this normal. I just did a oil change so I know it has the right amount.

Yes you will lose about a half pint when you sidestand the bike with the starter out.

I have had a small amount dribble out but not much. How much came out?

Ok, I had a puddle about 4 inchs round before I noticed, then put it back on side stand. Stopped leaking then...Thanks for the info.....Dave

Thats not too bad, depending on how far your suspension is pumped and how saggy the sidestand is, you can lose up to half a cup. Never enough to be a worry I would say.
