Today, as we were following some leaders of our card run, the pace picked up to a dangerous tempo. There was actually potential for some major bad things to occur.

We decided as a small group, disconnected from the fast folks, to travel in trail. I had the idea that we needed to name our group something special. This is what I came up with: (send your children to bed now)

We are the: Old Fogeys United Cycle Klan. The acronym will be our banner to carry when we're going down the road at much faster paces than we want.

O.****.'ers(I just deleted the bad word out of respect for the board, you guys can figure it out)band together. United we stand, rigid in our perserverance to become a slower, more deliberate approach to the sport of biking. Yes I say, off we go lickedty split, and may the best team win.

or the person with the most toys.

Hobie1, I had much the same experience this weekend, a few of us riding quiet bikes hooked up with a bunch on noisy bikes who knew the route. We followed for a while and it didn't take long to predict one of these fools wasn't going to last. Sure enough the biggest guy on the loudest bike lost it, wrecked the bike, broke some ribs, etc.

You just have to stick to your own pace and enjoy.

Seems like we have new ideas for t shirts though,
