Opening msg- 2012 GL1800

Hi Don, the book has two instructions for the Opening Ceremony, one for bikes with navigation and one for bikes without. I know the one for navigation equipped bikes works.

Don, first be sure the ceremony is turned on, then the trick to getting into SPECIAL is like (CTRL; ALT; DEL) only (TRIP; INFO; SETUP) If that won't get you in, then it is time for a visit to your friendly dealer. Sorry for the less than adequate help.

Don, when you are working through the instructions in the handbook, exactly what are you seeing?

wont go to Standard or Special, goes back to where I started.......
Had no problem with my 01!!

Sounds like when you make the change, it is not getting locked into the computer.
Try This:

SETUP
DIM
INFO
SETUP (Within 5 seconds, very important, this is what locks the new setting into the computer)

Did you ever get your opening ceremony to work? I am having the same difficulty. The display will not show STANDARD in the middle line as the book shows so that I can change it to SPECIAL. Anyway, I decided to do a Google search to see if anyone else was having similar problems and this forum came up. Thanks for any information you can provide. Roger Wood
