Hello fellow riders!

The grips on my 93 GL1500 SE were shot, so I elected to purchase a set of Oxford Heated grips. No real installation issues on the electrical end. My question is the bar end. The OEM grip ends were closed. These are open. The bar end weight is right at the end of the bar and internal. My fear is if it stay exposed its going to rust and look like crap/

I'm hesitant to glue a grip cap onto the end of the grip as the throttle sleeve is right there, although that appears to be an option if I can find a blank cap.

I did a forum search and it seems with some effort that weight can be removed to allow the use of an aftermarket internally clamping bar end.

I'd also think I could drill and tap to use something that screws on, but they all would need to be countersunk into the bar.

My question is - Has anyone used these grips, and how did they solve this problem?

Nobody has done this? I can’t believe that.
