You're a man of your word, and fast acting. :D I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Doesn't have to be fancy, but sure would be nice to meet a few members. :gunhead:

Well now,,,,,, I generally make at least one ride out there per season. It would most likely have to be on a Sunday for me because we are beginning to work more Saturdays. But don't let that keep the rest of you from getting together.

I'll keep an eye on this for sure.

Good of you to step up to the plate and make something happen in our area. Don't have to be nothing fancy,,,,,,,just getting a chance to shake hands with folks from the forum would be great.

A couple of month's ago we took a ride down to Wellsboro. Stopped at the Wellsboro diner. I've never seen so much traffic for a little town in all my life. But what a neat place! From there we took what I think was Rt. 287(?) south and then hopped over to Trout Run. What a fabulous ride that 287 is. You ride along the top of tall pines as you twist your way down a mountain. We took Rt 14 back to N.Y. which wasn't a bad ride in itself. We hope to go back when the fall colors are out.

How aboutthe weekend of August 15th, or 29th. Or do we want it later ?

Anybody familiar with the area, as far as any reservations we might need ? I was there last year, on the way back from an Upstate NY tour - but only ate at the Diner, flopped in a cheap motel, and rode home in the pouring rain.

The weather was disgusting, so we didn't even go to the park.

I can dig around, and find out some stuff, but not today. :p

YOu got that right. I would only be able to ride out for the day. I don't think I could make it a stay over night thing for me. The dates are very close to my trip to Montrose Co. But then I've been known to change my mind:cool:Just kinda hard to plan the two so close together.

And yes, Wellsboro is a neat little town. I've never really stopped in the town, just passed through. But the main street with all the gas lamps in the center will remind you of the old Christmas movie,,,,,,, " It's a wonderful life".

Sounds good to me if Wendy and I can get a sitter for the boys. I'll need a date as soon as possible.

There are two similar threads going re a M & G in NE PA or Watkins Glen NY area. Any thoughts to merging the two? Watkins Glen NY to Wellsboro PA is only 1 1/2 hours.

nobbie - Re the Watkins Glen thread, that is tentatively scheduled for next year, after I get settled in, back in Ontario, so I see no need to merge the threads. I'll get the ball rolling on this one next year. I was just gauging interest and I see that there is sufficient interest shown. :clapper:

Sorry for any misunderstandings. :(

My bad actually. After I posted I noticed the date discrepancies. Lots of stuff to see in the area. Highlight the Glenn Curtis Museum for one. While best known for aircraft he messed with motorcycles as well.

Late August, early September works for me. Can be a two day or one day journey. Will be at Michigan Speedway on the 15th of August.
