having dificulties with mine am getting engine noise through the speakers have narrowed it down to the radio/tape as when fitted to friends GL1200 it's sounds the same but when i fit his radio to my wing his sounds perfect ! mine used to be fine ! i am trying to find a replacement unit at a low cost if anyone has a spare one !!!! or does anybody have a schematic drawing of the insides, or anybody know of a reputable repairer ? am getting fed up whistling/humming tunes !! Regards Mike !:(

Check with your local stereo store. You most likely need a noise filter. You are getting spark plug electrical feed back. Your friend's radio may already have one built in. I believe the filtereither plugs into the antenna lead or on the power lead. I'm assuming that the noise raises and lowers with engine speed. Correct.

I'm not 100% sure, but I though I read a post recently that suggested Sierra did repairs on GL1200 radios.

Hi this doesn't apply to your guys questions but i just put in a RM 1100 radio in my 84 GL1200. basic am/fm cassett unit and was wondering if anybody can tell me how you go about tuning in the radio to your local stations? then setting them on the buttons on radio.

thanks, Doug
