Passenger Audio Controller GL1800

I have a passenger audio controller (BigBike) on my Wing GL1800. The volume that comesthrough the controller is very low- even when the control knob is turned all the way up. When the volume to the passenger is comfortable, it is too loud up front. It appears that something is holding back full volume output to the passenger. Any thoughts/help?
