Passenger grab rail

I have a 1981 GL1100 that is a standard model with Krauser bags and top case. The problem I have with this setup is that there is no place where my wife can hold on to execpt for me. I notice when looking at pics of the Intertsate model there appears to be a rail that would be used for a passenger to hold on to. Is this rail part of the bracket that holds the top case with back pad in place?

I would like to keep my Krauser side bags and would add the Honda top case if this would give me the rails for the passenger to hold on to.

Is it possible that what appears to be passenger grab rails are part of another braket that holds the Honda saddlebags in place?

Any help or clarification greatly appreciated.

As far as I remember the grabbers are part of the trunk rack.

Yep, its a welded job alright. The later (83) ones are a bit wider as well. The trunk rack on the later ones was also moved further back to make more pillion space.

Sounds like I would be good then with just picking up a rear top case and rack off a 80-83 interstate/aspencade.

Thanks
