Hope this turns out. This is a pic of the front forks on my 88 Electra Glide Classic. They were pitted badly from 20 years in the wind. I tried buffing them out & ended up wearing through the clear coat on the forks. I than asked MD Crammer for his advise on fixing them. This is a pic taken after sanding up to 800 grit & one quick polish with "Autosol". I can still buff them to a higher level but I think Im happy with where they are now.

Thank you MD!!!!!!:clapper:

Glad I could help Hatchet...They look great!

And yes, with a little high-speed buffer action with some Simichrome polish, those babies would look like...well..chrome! :)

Please tell me that the scuffs on the fender are only nicks in the clear coat, and can be buffed back out.

The nicks in the fender look spooky but most of that is dust from sanding. I wiped it with my finger & it disapears. Im going to re wax my paint with "Autoglym". & all will be good.

Im going to get a better polisher & hit the forks again, Than I might re coat them with clear!
