I believe that Panasonic still makes the radios, but they are propriatery.
Installing an amp may be your best answer, you can get an amp with "High Level Inputs" that means that it accepts the higher voltage signal from the speaker outputs.
You have to watch your total electrical power consumption vs. output when sizing your audio system.
If you're missing the bass kick, it doesn't matter how much power you push into the system, the only way to get bass is by adding a sub-woofer, I've got an idea for that, but you'd loose most of your trunk space, may not work with Hondas CD player either.

Motorcycles are inheirently dangerous. Averting your attention or causing a diversion of senses can lead to a fatal accident.
