Can this plug guard be removed without consequences on a 1200 Aspencade????

I think they are there mostly for cosmetic reasons. They also help to keep the water away while riding. Not sure how much it helps.

Why do you want to remove them?

I am pretty sure those did not come on the bike anyway, they appear to be aftermarket by the shoddy way they fit.

They are OEM. All models except for the '84 Standard had them installed from the factory. They are on the parts fiche (listed on the cowl stay fiche) and are described as Air Inlet Lower. They were probably designed to catch air and direct it to that area of the engine. Not sure what adverse effects, if any, would result in running without them.

removed mine 3 years ago,have never had a problem evrn in heavy rain,think they are more cosmetic than anything
