If it were mine I would put one of these in it. Stator - Alternator - Upgrade - GL1000 - GL1100 - GL1200 and a series regulator. Probably less work in the long run than a poor boy.
There is no poor boy kit being made, you have to make most of it yourself.

I don't know where to find the series regulator, I have only seen them discussed here. Yes that stator should run several extra electrical items.

The original 1200 stator put out 350 watts @ 3000 rpm. That's something like 30 amps.

I posted somewhere that I had ordered a pulley from the UK , 'cause I coudn't find one here with a 12mm bore.
He suggested another source for that front crank pulley. NOW, I can't find that post. i can't even remember if it was here or another GW forum. if anyone has seen that post I would appreciate it if you give me a shout. Thanks.

Get a narrower belt & a matching pulley for the alternator.

Someone with a lathe could widen it enough for a 10mm belt pretty quick if there is enough thickness at the edges.
