Thanks Vic, I thought I was doing my 86 SEI a favor even though the Owner's Manual clearly states 86 Octane is sufficient. Someone told me, can't remember who, that I should NEVER use regular but should ALWAYS use premium. Of course, I believed him. Your logic makes sense to me. I have two other fuel injected vehicles a 1990 Chevrolet S-10 pick up (my wife's) and a 1986 Toyota 4 Runner (mine) and both run fine on regular. We use Chevron and Beacon/Velero in all our vehicles. Thanks for clearing this up for me. I'm back to regular fuel. Peter
