I think that came along when the board was sold, advertising came along, etc. All current members were granted the prestigious title. I'm not sure if someone newer than that date can achieve such status.

Did this forum originate as part of goldwing owners site? I see the same titles and many members on that site also.

This site originated due to a man named Steve Saunders. He personally funded the site for a long time out of his own pocket along with donations. The ever growing expense in funds and time became overwhelming and he was forced to sell it to the outfit that runs it now.

It seems the moderator staff have remained the same as have the rules. I don't notice the ads that much but it's different than in the old days.

If you ever have the chance to meet Steve, please take advantage of it. He is a fine man. Each year there is a meet and greet named NASSIR (North American Steve Saunders International Rally) which many folks here get together to socialize. It is held in a different location each year and is a lot of fun.

You see the same forum names here as in other places due to people wanting to be known as many of the members here are members elsewhere.

I'm certainly not the guru for such subjects, but I have been around for a little while and have asked many of the same questions that bring out these type of answers.

IDK if they take donations anymore for the site but perhaps for NASSIR or one of the other M&G's that happen around North America I'm just not sure.

The eastern m&g is coming soon, I'll likely stop by on my way home from work on Saturday. If you go to the events page you can find the info.

I went to the NASSIR a few years ago in New York. It was fun, I got to place a face to some of the names/avatars on here, even came out of there with a couple friends that I wouldn't have ever had an opportunity to know if I hadn't ended up there. Same with the eastern m&g.

I'm sure (to keep this inline with the op) that the folk I have met at these events have to hold the status of Lifetime Premium Member It's an honor to hold such a status within a group such as this, lol

We used to have MANA which was hard to come by but I think it's all gone.

There used to be a page on here that told how to get the titles like "senior member" but IDK where that is anymore. I think some are customizable too.

In the usercp you can change Senior Member to a custom one that you choose but I don't see any other changes for the Lifetime Premium Member status.

I think it also allows you to eliminate some of the advertisements but that may have been another board.

If you have $40 burning a hole in your pocket you can become a Lifetime Premium Member.

As part of the deal when Steve sold the forum all existing members got this no charge.
