Pressure in GL1500 gas tank

After a long ride, when I stop, my 1500 has a weird sound like a fuel pump running. Open the gas tank cap and let out the pressure and it stops.
What is going on when this happens.

Building up pressure. As fuel is burned it must be replaced with air. You might check that the red hose on the fuel cap is not plugged up. To a degree, this is very normal.

The cap is designed to hold X amount of pressure on the tank, anything above that amount vents and makes a humming noise.
