Maybe I should tap in to the power to the fuel pump?
I have an OEM gasket for the pre-'87 petcocks, Jeff. If you are up to the task of installing it, (and no, that's not a challenge) you may have it.
It takes considerable drilling, grinding and tapping to disassemble and fix those little devils.
1200I = Interstate? Carb model, right? Not injected.
Can use a much smaller solenoid than that one.
Less than $10 on eBay new.

A leaking float valve is washing the oil out of the cylinder and tanking fuel mileage.:sadguy:

I picked the one I did because I wasn't sure how well the plastic ones would hold up in the heat from the engine. If it quit working so would the bike.Plastic or metal body won't matter. A streetbike is light duty in application.

I've ordered from China with no problems in the past. Probably a few dozen times thereabouts. I've waited up to a few weeks at times for delivery though. Depends on fast you want it as to what you'll pay.
Sometimes a auction is the way to go depending on what you want.
