Maybe I should tap in to the power to the fuel pump?
Prevent hydro lock Shut of valve leaking, GL1200
My shut off valve is letting gas flow in the off position.
I have a leaky float valve.
What do you guys think about installing one of these.
Where would you get power from? 1986 1200

I've been looking for something like that for mine. Thanks for the link. I would wire it to the tail light power feed.
I have an OEM gasket for the pre-'87 petcocks, Jeff. If you are up to the task of installing it, (and no, that's not a challenge) you may have it.
It takes considerable drilling, grinding and tapping to disassemble and fix those little devils.

I rebuilt the petcock on a Honda CM400E 1980. I don't remember any drilling or grinding. There must be rivets holding it together. I will think about your offer Dennis.
1200I = Interstate? Carb model, right? Not injected.
Can use a much smaller solenoid than that one.

Plastic or metal body won't matter. A streetbike is light duty in application.

I've ordered from China with no problems in the past. Probably a few dozen times thereabouts. I've waited up to a few weeks at times for delivery though. Depends on fast you want it as to what you'll pay.
Sometimes a auction is the way to go depending on what you want.

I agree, God willing, I'll rebuild the carbs this winter but not during riding season if I can avoid it because I'll order my parts after I see what I need I could have a sinking float or badly adjusted float height or dirty valve.
In the Honda owners manual it says to shut the fuel off when your not riding I always forget.
Although, when I have the time I'll take the carbs off my parts bike and rebuild them so I can just swap them and tune them in. I guess I hadn't even thought about the other carbs.
