It does sound like the nut wasn't properly secured.I had to replace the seals on my 416s after around 25,000 miles, I have 5,000 miles on the new seals and they are hanging in there just fine now. Just be careful putting the new ones in, masking tape on the eye end of the piston shaft, a little moly grease in the lip of the seal and a good lube of ATF or whatever oil you use on the shaft will go far to protect the seal. Those seals are delicate when assembling. Try to keep them square to the shaft when you push them down too.I don't mind leaking seals,but a shock coming apart,seems like a quality control issue? There was no breakage,the nut just came loose,then off.

They hook up to the factory airline before it splits. The adapters should come with the shocks or possibly are an additional kit. On the Prog. 416's do they just hook up to your factory air line as the OEM's do or do you need some sort of adapters to install them?
