Surely we can check the oil level on a Goldwing without getting the bike up on the center stand...right? I placed a rock under the kickstand and got it pretty level, and the oil is up to about the center of the sight window. Is that about right?



How to check the drive shaft fluid? What else should I check?



(I know I need a manual, but don't want to wait till I get one to start riding...)

It is always best to put the bike on the center stand,1 for safty purposes and 2 to show the correct amount of oil in your motor.When checking your final drive lube there is a filler plug(larger one) and a drain plug(smaller one),with the bike on the center stand remove the larger plug and the gear lube should be at the bottom of the filler hole.Also check your coolant level,brake fluid level,front and rear.And tire pressures.

You put the sidestand up on a ROCK instead of simply putting it on the center stand? I don't even know what to say about that.
