What should the ohm reading be across my pulse generators on a 1985 or 1986 GL1200i. I have 2 sets of these and I know the one set works. My Clymer manual tells me that the ohm reading should be between 1,100 and 1,300 ohms and if theyb are not in that range they need to be replaced. Both sets check out at 340 ohms. I checked them with 2 different meters and got the same reading. Could the Clymer manual be wrong. ???

The Honda manual gives the same specification, 1200 ohms +/- 100. It also says that this is at 20 C but I can't see temperature making the difference you're seeing.

Something I found while working on a 1200 was the PG connectors were not making good contact. Sometimes it would start and sometimes not, wiggle the connector and it would start. I had to pull all the female terminals and squeeze them tighter and all was good.
