Jerry, I had a Harley roadglide for 4 years that had a lot more room than the goldwing, the floor boards were postioned further forward. The goldwing has no room at all for tall people. There is bearly enough room for boots to fit onto the floor pegs.

For you to make a comment about to tall for a goldwing, (never heard that) you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Sorry to say i learned the hard way.

Love the engine,love how it rides, but the Japs have no idea how to make a roomy bike. If i could put this engine in my old roadglide that would be a bike. I will buy another goldwing someday, when i can afford to modify the bike to fit my body.

A different seat could be all you need,and some forward hwy pegs on the crash bars. do you have pegs or floorboards?come to think of it i believe the interstate sat lower than other GL1500s.

No offense intended. I also have a cruiser with forward pegs and more legroom. But I have a 34" inseam and fit on a 1200 Goldwing just fine. The unique design of the Goldwing's engine does make it difficult to put the footpegs forward, many people mount highway pegs on the engine guard.

can someone post pics of the suzuki cavalcade, the LXE model. it is very similar to the goldwing and has footboards built into the fairing lowers.

it has a v4 engine configuration that gives plenty of room for legs and feet.

Sorry to vent all, but i have lost my patience with this whole thing. Buying a Yamaha Roadliner S or a Stratoliner. Lots of legroom,side bags,windshield, did i mention lots of legroom. Thank all for your help.

yep, if you are use to forward controls, the wings are different. And as far as the 1500, I felt that when I went from the 1200 to the 1500 that the foot position was closer in comparison to the seat. But there are so many options out there for highway pegs and foot rests. I have a friend who was dissuaded from considering the wing due to the width compared to his 99 Venturer Royale. He ended up with a Victory Cross Country Tourer which he loves, except for the heat in the seat. Comes down to a matter of preference. He looked at the Stratoliners but for him he gave up too much wind protection. As long as you find what works for you and ride. May your search be fruitful.
