I have a car type stereo on my bike (like a lot of you) that I have wired in a headphone jack to the rear speaker outputs. It works great to use with earbuds or whatever for music. I also have a sat radio wired in that plays through the stereo also.

I just bought an IMC intercom system that has the ability to play music from an mp3 player or sat radio simply by plugging into the headphone jack on the player. It will not work with my stereo without something they called an "floating ground adapter".

Before I find one of those, does anyone have any experience with anything like this? Will it work? OR...do I just plug straight into my sat radio and use a boosteroo to get the needed volume?

any thoughts would be appreciated

The floating ground adapter is basically an inline capacitor to prevent DC current flow when a balanced amp output is fed to a grounded speaker system. Best bet is just put one in.
