radio stays on mute

hello all i have a 91 gl1500se when i turn the key to ACC the radio works fine then i turn it to ON to start the bike the radio gose to mute on wont come off but when it is in ACC the mute button works fine push on it comes on push off it gose off but when it is the ON position the mute button dose nothing :X

Welcome to the site. Sounds like you have a switch problem. It may just need cleaning.

I agree with the above post. Dirty switches are a common problem on the 'Wings.

I have never had to clean the ignition switch on my 97, but I have read where others have had to give it a spray of something. I would suggest a good contact cleaner, with a bit of working the key in all positions. It sure sounds like it is a switch problem.

If you have a cb radio try turning it offor turn the squelch up to see if it takes care of the problem
