My almost 7' tall brother-in-law is hot for a really nice '86 aspencade, but can't get comfortable with the stock seat. He needs a seat to move him back about 6". Is this possible? He won't be carrying passengers, so that's not an issue. Any help would be appreciated.

my wife who is a 5'10" also does not like the stock seat, so it isn't just a "tall" problem. It also has to do with the foot position... Honda seems to thinks that knees tighter than 90' are comfortable. We haven't done this, but have thought of just getting a custom seat that is farther back, as she does not carry a passenger. I think that would be the only solution

He could contact Mark at Diamond Seats. I don't know if he still does 1200s but you could ask. He's 6'4" so he understands the problems. He probably will want a different foot position as well and Mick O Pegs will be his best bet. He could contact Jim Mick about that and be sure to explain the leg length. He should ask if model K/A or K/A-HS would work on the '86. Take a look at the link in my signature to see what other ideas might be helpful. I ride an 1800 but some of these should work for the 1200.

I'd think one of the custom seat makers could do that easily as the guys have mentioned.

Seems like that would work, might need to set the handlebars back a little with a spacer too.

I was also going to mention Hartco....I had one my RoadStar and my buddy had one on his Softail. I'm 6'5" and around 270 and it made the ride, along with different pegs, MUCH more confortable...and it looked hot, which is always a plus. They aren't cheap, but they're worth it. I can't comment on anything for the goldwings, but the ones I've riden on and seen have been excellent.
