My MOT center have told me that the rear break disk needs replacing as it is too thin, it looks fine to me and about the same as the front ones. He didnt measure.

At what thickness do they need replacing?

Any idea where i can get one at a reasonable price?

I think it's 4mm is the wearlimit. It's actually stamped on the disc itself, measure it with a caliper and see how thick it is.

Brake minimum service thickness for all GL1500's at least through 1992:

Front 5.0 mm or 0.20 in

Rear 6.0 mm or .24 in
