Rear Cubby doors gl1500

My brother just got a 89 wing with 100K miles. Runs good but needs some parts.The PO had timing belts and spark plugs installed and front forks redone at 96k so we are going to change the oil and filter.Rear cubby doors that are on both sides of the passenger are missing. Mother Honda doesn't have them. Where do I look for them?
Ordered new Dunlop E3s as the tires are shot. Are there other maintinence things that we might look into?

Some go at a decent price, some get expensive, I guess it depends on how many are looking for them at the time

Try Honda Direct Line. They have them. I got mine from Honda. You have to buy the lid, knob (release handel) and spring as seperate parts.

you should be able to get them from honda i got mine from Babbits on line if you order them make sure you get all the pices if not you will just get the door not the hardware

If you go the Ebay route, make sure the little mounting ears are not broken off. Don't ask me about my used ones.

What mounting ears? On the lid or the box they attach to?

On the lid. I seem to remember that they have little plastic tabs that act as hinges. These frenquently break if not handled properly.

Yep -- PINs on the box itself, with "ring" tabs on the lids to act as a hinge. Since that door is so awkward the pin portion on the box is often the first failure -- Losing the lid is not far behind, once a pin has broken.

Af note - the '89 should have one of 3 colors - a brown, gray, or a black for all those plastics. Just to help assure that you're aware of the coloring before going to order.

I have a brand new right side in black that I bought and found out the hindges on the box was broken. I had to buy the whole box. PM me if interested in just the door, no hardware.
