Hi

I dont think they can be replace. Had a different honda wheel it was like new. I trie every thing to get them out to save . The clunck might be comming from the (coupling ) up by the motor or the u-joint. Were the splines dry or did they still have grease on them. ? Good Luck

What kind of law is this?

Bad news... the rubber dampers are part of the wheel and not replaceable. Honda doesn't sell them... more bad news... the wheel had been discontinued.

Most go with a used wheel.

From Vic's GL1200 forum, there is a guy in Ontario who will replace the bushings in the rear wheel and fix the bearing race for a 1200:

for the people interested in this new law !
you cannot ride a car without snow tires from november 15th to march 15th.if you are caught riding without them its a $275 fine.
so nobody has invented winter tires for a motorcycle like a goldwing that means no more riding after midnight on november the 15th but we still have to pay for plates for the whole year cause they wont credit you.
oh ! our plates are cheap $620 a year....lol

Have you informed the AMA about this law?

Wow what an infringement of basic rights of any citizen either American or abroad. I did not realize laws even existed like this.

Quote

"Vehicles for which winter tires are not available shall be excluded, by Departmental order, from the mandatory use of tires specifically designed for winter driving. Because the vehicles in question will change from year to year and because they may only become known quite late in the season, this Departmental order shall be published annually."

Good news Tracker. From what Tricky has posted, I'd say bikes are not subject to that law.

Maybe the CMA would be more interested being this is a Canadian law! :D

620 a year? oh my God! and i've been fussing about 84.

This stupid law is not really a Canadian law but a Quebec law. According to my MTO friend they have the law because of the high acedent rate in that province. That law will never get passed here in Ontario where all season tires work just fine. The plate price is only in Quebec also. Tony:waving:

$620 a year, your butt must hurt after a visit to the DMV there. I was upset it cost me $110 to register a title and transfer my plate.
