rear ended

I'm a lucky guy! This afternoon I was coming to a stop at a yield, and was rear ended. The collision knocked me off the bike, and I just sat there in the road for a little to determine if I was ok or not, then sat down on the curb.

The guy that hit me came up and wanted to just exchange insurance info, but I said no, I'm calling the police. Before I knew it, the emergency responders were there, then the ambulance, then the police. They insisted on transporting me, and after several X-raysconcluded I had only contusions, and no broken bones, which I suspected to begin with.

So in a word, I'm fine, and very lucky. The bike didn't fare quite as well, but is repairable. Unless there's hidden damage, all the tupperware on the rear will have to be replaced, and both crash guards on the left side, but everything else seems good.

Oh man Frank, scary stuff. Crimony. What the heck are people doing out there? Daydreaming? Glad you are ok and I hope the bike will be ok as well.

Man-o-man Geezer, you are soooo lucky to escape relatively unscathed!!! We moved to Texas 20 yrs ago and one of the first things we discovered while entering freeways was that drivers, {for the most part}, thought a yield sign meant STOP !!! Guess you met the one that thinks it means GO !!!!........................Disclaimer: no disrespect meant to any true Texans cause now I R 1 and I love this state more than I could ever love my homestate............so please don't throw rocks......it was just an observation.......good luck on the rehab of your bike also............geezers gotta stick together!!!;);););););)

So glad you lived to tell about it.

Glad your OK, the bike can be fixed or replaced, but humans are a little harder to fix. Most people now adays rarely slow down for a yield, down in Killeen/Ft. Hood area, you had better be ready to move real quick to keep from getting ran over. I had several close calls down there over the years. Up here in the Little Rock area, they like to run the red lights. So, we are a target anywhere we ride now adays.:(

Glad you're OK.. My be stiff in the morning.. The guy even stopped and has insurance.. You're lucky all around.

Glad you are ok. I hope your injuries heal quickly. I would really have that frame checked before repairing the tupperware and guard on it. Don't settle with the insurance to quickly. You may have some after effects from getting your head, neck and back jarred like that.

I'm glad you're ok, and very glad you stuck to your guns and insisted the police be called.

Frank, I am so glad you are OK!

That's what insurance is for.....but we can't replace you!

Again, glad you are OK. ;)

Glad your ok, you might be a little sore in the morning though. Hope he had Insurance, the last one to give me insurance info had his canceled a week before he hit me :X

Good on you to call the PD.

Brings back memories of just 3 months ago on the 12th. Sorry to hear about the run-in. At least he stayed. So glad to hear your all right, but you will be sore tomorrow. Wish there was something more we could do about these guys running into us, seems to be happening more and more. I've seen it once sense my accident happen to another. Just is not right.

Again, glad to hear your OK, they insisted I go to the hospital as well. You just never know until you get checked out.

Glad to hear you are okay. and yes, always call the PD on something like that. The guy was trying to skate without getting a tag on his insurance and driver's license.

Not good.

I am very glad you're ok! While it could have been worse, it sure would have been better not to have happened, right?

All the best,
Eric

Sorry to hear about that. Glad you're ok.

Glad you were ok and had senses about you to want to call the police! A lot of folks try to ditch and run when you swap a card only to find out the card is no good.
