We have a 75 GL 1000 that needs a rear master cylinder kit. The kits for '78 and later are much more plentiful than for the '75 to '77 models. The pictures look the same but the part numbers are different. Does anyone know if the '78 and later rebuild kit will work in the '75? Thanks!!!! sppp

Glenn,

Thanks for your help. That web site is EXACTLY why I joined this forum. If you look at a parts diagram:

http://www.cyclepartsnation.com/pag...DER_+_CALIPER/GL1000-JPN-A/2Y133710F13371011D

They have a part # 43 510 371 305 for the '75-'77 GL 1000 and the later number shown for 78 and on like the one on the site you linked to. Some vendors, like the site in Canada are selling the later kit to fit the earlier master cylinder. $30 or $40 for a couple rubber seals is a lot if they don't fit.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Sppp

I do have a 79, and I know the rotors changed for the 78-79 models, so I am not sure if the 75-77 MC's are the same. I don't think so.

You should post this question in the Goldwing Technical Forum so more people will see it and give you the answer you need.

I recommend you post your question over in the technical section. Most of the gurus won't see it over here.
