I have a 1989 1500, while drilling down on a web page I noticed that there are a couple of recalls for my bike. One was a poor low rpm performance issue - where the dealer was supposed to re-jet the carb to take care of the problem and the other had to do with leaking bags. I wonder if anyone knows if it is still possible that honda may take care of this for me? It really does have a flat spot - just off of idle and when maneuvering at low speed it is dangerous. Ideas?

I believe that those recalls were only for 88's.

If you look at the goldwinginfo website, all particulars including if the recall will be performed out of the warranty timeframe is there.

Tony's telling you right Mike, the only two service bulletins I can find for the 1989 are minor:

SB4 1988-1989 GL1500 Saddlebag Water Leakage

SB5 1988-1989 GL1500 Improved Windshield Seal

Honda won't perform this fix under warranty any more as it's too long gone. The repair kits are not to easy to come by either, but if they have them they will supply it to your dealer.

Honda in America might be more helpful than in the UK. They stopped doing that recall for free quite a few years ago. :waving:

Did you ever ask honda us about the 88 flat spot recall fix stuff?

I have an 88 which does not have the fix.
