anyone rebuild front while leaving tree and forks on bike-- while pulling off the slider ? i havent -but i hear the honda shop does it.

Yes, lots of people do a seal change that way. Putting fluid back in is the tricky part. I personally just think it's easier to do the job correctly.

It's only takes loosening three more 'triple tree' clamp bolts per side to completely remove the fork.

That's how we did it on the Black Pearl ('83). I think the advantage is even bigger with a 1500. Fairing and everything "upstairs" can stay in place.
