I have the instructions for replacing the air filter on my 2007 but cannot get the speaker grilles out? They say they should just pop out from the top but I can't get them to pop. I'm afraid I'm going to break the plastic . What's the secret? Thanks again for any advice !

Just push downward from the top and they should release.

Have tried that. The speaker grilles are made of metal so there's no flex in them whatsoever. I pushed down quite hard and nothing moved. Maybe I should stick to peeling potatoes !

I went out and tried mine and they come right off, but I have an 05 1800. do not know if there is a difference because they seem to make small goofy changes every year.

You must remove the complete panel and remove the speakers from the back side, be very careful when unplugging the tweeters. The 2005 and older 1800's had the removable grills.
