Has anyone ever replaced the right handlebar switch assembly on a 2000 GL1500?The starter button was intermittent & Cruise buttonwould not work. Took it apart to clean it but foundsome of the springs were broken. So I ordered a new one for $69. I can't find a description in the service manual on how to take the old switch assembly off .... which body covers, etc.. has to be removed & disconnected. If you have some basic instructions I would appreciate the help!

Pull the chrome ends off, then slide the fuel pedal off, it may be hard to do this the first time, and then pull the switch off.
