Would the directions be the same on replacing the air filter on our GL1800 Goldwing as they are in the manual on this site for pre 2006 models? Our bike is the basic model; no GPS or any extras. It does have the electric seat. Thanks for any info anyone can supply.

The two glove boxes come out differently, you need to remove the two side strips to get to the screws. Dont forget to disconnect the toe warmer cable and reconnect when putting it back together. :leprechaun:

Graeme youll also find that there isnt as many plugs and harnesses to unplug on top of the air filter box. When reassembling the top shelter watch out for the foot warmer cable it has a tendency to disappear and then you have to go find it. Also watch your front speaker cords ,make sure that they are up in position and dont get pinched while assembling the top cover. And the left glove box make sure the cable is PLUGGED IN before you close it or it gets interesting trying to open it again. All in all it goes pretty easy and it sounds harder than it is. Just take your time and you'll be fine.

also the outer plastic trim clip holder strips can break as like other trim parts...cause people snap em apart wrong...like a volkswagen...things all snaps together ingeniously but its too late after you realize this.
