Joined today, only one post and it's trying to sell a $3500 81 1100 and not even a picture to show of it!

Not even taken time to try to learn how to post a picture!

What happened to our rule of having to have X number of posts before being able to post for sale here?
Did we loose that in the software change? I think we need it back!

If a person can't learn to post a picture for a $3500 item posted for sale on their very first post then we should not bother with the item that is for sale! They probably should not be posting the $3500 bike for sale with no picture on the very first post on the same day they joined!

Soon we will be no better than Craigslist if this continues!

Not the first time I seen something similar either.

How hard is it really to click attach and find the picture on their own hard drive?
Better ways, but that is so simple and easy!

And another thing

People posting links to items not their own they find on craigs list or ebay etc. and not just goldwing items and knocking members items down or off the front page.
This forum is for forum members to use to sell their stuff, or so I thought.

I agree but do have some mixed feelings on the CL listings that get posted.

If it's a really good deal on a nice wing or pile of parts cheap I don't think it's so bad to let folks know what they found availible, and some of us might like a good deal on parts or another bike.

When it's just a normal nice bike and asking top dollar I see no point in it though.

Those type threads get locked down as soon as they are discovered or reported. Digger posted a hitch for a 1500 that wasn't his, but it looked like a great deal so he posted it and offered to pick it up and ship it. I wanted it, and what digger said he would do, he did. I had asked azgl1500?if he would unlock the post so that I could publicly thank digger, for which he did, then locked it back.

With that said, it is a good thing, but I would like to see the requirement made that if you as a member post a listing or ad that is not yours, then you are saying that I or anyone, can contact you for your help in purchasing that item, much like Digger did for me.

If it is a goldwing or goldwing item for a good price I have no problem with it but posting something completely off the wall like a f'n boss hoss trike doesn't belong here. Who in their right mind would want such a thing anyway?

Well lads I monitor the for sale forum every day ,, but because of the time difference between Ireland and the USA some ads are not caught until 12 hours after posting, I close all craig list ads , I also close all ads that are posted by members for a friend , I delete any ads with less than 5 posts and I close ads that have less than 10 posts ,If I fell that a person has the required 15 posts but has only posted rubbish just to get to that number then I will close or delete that ad ,,
In most cases I also delete BUMPING ,,,
most of you do not see the amount of ads I actually delete ,So if one gets through it is only a matter of a few hours before it is gone .. The for sale forum is not confined to Goldwings , but if a member starts selling household goods and cars on a regular basis then a nice PM is sent (and you all know how nice my PMs can be ) :) :)
So dont get into a panic if you see an add with only one or 2 posts , I am on it ..

Your doing a good job there Wexy!

Ya, I'm probably just seeing them soon as they get posted sometimes and miss they later got deleted or locked.
What I first meant though was I thought the software was supposed to block the post option to start a new thread till the number of posts were met. I didn't know it was being done manually.

I'm not sure what all options this new software has, but I think on some other forums I've been on allot they had options to set things like number of posts and time as a member before people could start a thread and even sometimes before they could post replies in certain areas.

Thank you Wexy. If members were just required to read the rules and click an accept button it might help.
