Hey i have my bike Honda goldwing 1500 and over all it is a nice bike but from 3 days ago my bike lock has been jammed and it is very difficult to put the key inside the lock and if it goes wont turn. Is there any locksmith who would fix it?

First of all you put your location as USA, that is a big place in case you don't know. If you put your city and state there might be a member there who knows of a good locksmith who could fix your problem. If it is all the locks and not just the ignition you probably just need a new key.

on my 85 1200 ltd my trunk locks would get blocked, there where peices of white plastic inside the lock that where comming loose due to age. i took a small pick and dug them out and they still work.

I would first try spraying some WD-40 in it and see if it works. Pins could be just gummed up. If it has to be taken apart, you will either need a locksmith or a new lock. Depending on what it is, a new lock might be cheaper. You didn't say what lock it is, the ignition or something else.

I believe it is a better idea to use a specialised lubricant for locks, as wd-40 or other regular lubricants will accumulate dust/particles and worsen the situation.

I have used this stuff [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Abus-PS-88-Pflege-Spray-Lubricant/dp/B004GAQBYE[/ame] and graphite powder lubricants successfully in the past. If you're being frugal, I've also read that you can even make your own graphite powder with a pencil.

my 86a had the same problem,once i dug all the little pieces out she went back to working

WD-40 is an excellent solvent, and will dissolve any gum or sticky gooey stuff in the lock, then most of it will evaporate. I have been using WD-40 in locks for over 40 years without a single problem. Back when I used to wash my bikes on a regular basis, part of the after wash routine was to spray WD-40 into all key locks and handlebar switches to lubricate them and remove the water. A while back the ignition switch on my '85 1200 started having problems with intermittent contact. Just touching the key, or hitting a small bump would turn it off. I flushed it out good with WD-40, it is still not perfect, but works a lot better now.

Whatever you do, DON'T put powdered graphite in it. The mess will never end. It will get on the key, and then all over your clothes and hands for weeks, and it permanently stains clothes.

When I was doing A/C work, I used WD-40 by the case. I still buy it by the gallon and put it in a spray bottle for use on my own bikes and cars.

Uh-oh, I just googled the wd40-in-locks subject and I had not realised it was such a contentious one...lots of different opinions out there...staying away...whatever floats one's boat.

I also had a problem with the gas flap on my 1500. The lock wouldn't accept the key. It was the plastic shield that covers the slot when the key isn't in the lock. The remedey was the same as already mentioned, I picked out the pieces with a bent pin and worked the key in the lock until it started working again. Too bad Honda doesn't use a metal shield instead of those plastic ones.
