Hello -

I am brand-new to this list - It's good to be here!

Anyway, I have a '77 GL1000 that I am going to turn into a reverse trike (1 wheel in back, 2 in front) and I would like to have a gear-position indicator in the cockpit.

Does anybody know if a gear position sensor from a GL1200 would fit? Or are there any other sensors that would do the job? I am not interested in the kind that sense speed and engine rpm to do the job - they cost too much!

Thanks -

Mark

If you speak to a friendly electronics expert, it should be feasable to fit either the 1200 or '83 1100 Aspencade gear position sensor (this means replacing the complete front casing, the one the water pump is locatedin) and using this to operate an electronic readout. This could also be used to light up a different light for each gear that could be fitted to teh dash.

I know enough about electronics to pull off that end. I was more curious about the mechanical part. So that sensor goes in the front of the engine?
