I,m newto the site so if I make mistakes please bear with me .

When I try to put my 97 SE in reverse and pull thr lever all the way back it will not work . If I pull it part way back it will work sometimes ; but the light on the dash doesn,t come on and doesn,t seam to have much power . The small lip on the curb will stop it .

There is a micro switch that the lever connects to under the left side tank/shelter panel. The switch has a long thin bendable part that can be bent to make better contact when the lever is at full up position.

I agree. I would start there. It may appear to be working, but if not aligned correctly, would give those type of problems. Quick easy check and free.
