Riding a m/cycle isn't a casual pursuit that you can undertake while involved in other activities such as - - :action:

(1) Making Phone Calls

(2) Talking to your Pillion Passenger

(3)Adjusting yourRadio etc.

And most importantly it is not vain to look inyour mirrior when, - - :jumper:

(1) Turning Right.

(2) Turning Left.

(3) At and before Roundabouts.

(4) Slowing Down/Stopping.

(5) Moving Off.

(6) Overtaking.

(7) Changing Lanes.

(8) On the Straight.

And even with all this mirror work dont forget the Safety Glance over the Shoulder. ;)

It's great to get that off my chest:clapper:

Wait...

Let me get this strait...

It's not safe for me to be talking on the cell phone, while drinking a brew, changing the channel, with the throttle locker on, and steering with my feet?

Wish I had known that yesterday! :cheeky1:

Seriously though guys... You can be the safest driver on the road, but you are only one-half of the equation. For when that other half comes into play, please ALWAYS wear your gear. If it hadn't ben for my JR jacket and leather chaps, I'd most likely have a broken elbow, and be missing part of my thigh. I spent over a half hour with my helmet a 10 magnifier, and my mechanic's stethescope. First visually inspecting, and then doing the knock test. (Knock on it with your knuckles, and listen for any abnormalities that would indicate a sub-surface crack). I did this even though there are no scratches on the helmet just to be safe. As soon as I have the $$ it will be replaced along with my jacket.

Okay, I gotta ask the etymology of this word. I have seen it from you folks from the "other" side of the atlantic.

What differentiates a "pillion passenger" from just a passenger. Where is the term pillion derived???

On this side pretty much just refer to the lump on back as a passenger or rider.

Hey revinger :waving:

Pillion means a seat for a passenger behind the rider of a m/cycle :clapper:thats the reason we call them a pillion passenger

8-5 m-f computer job,
part time job as EMT-I for the community ambulance service
3 kids
In a paramedic class
a 77 GL1000, 85 GL1200, 76 CB200, 82 KZ440LTD
homebuilt aircraft that I havent had time to fly since last summer.

Its all I can do to find time to try and read the list once in a while, let along have time to respond to much of anything. When I have something useful to contribute I try to respond. But I can go weeks before I get around to reading the list, unless something breaks on the aforementioned wings in which case I start reading real heavy.
