Hey guys, I'm cleaning the carbs on my 84 1200 and I'm wondering what the screw is at the bottom of each float bowl. Should I back this all the way out and clean it, too? I can't seem to find any info in Clymer's about that one screw.

That is the drain screw and yes it should be removed as part of thecleaning process but use caution as they can easily be broken.......

I believe that's the float bowl drain and I've never heard of anyone actually using it.

What holds the bowl up?

Alright, thanks guys. I got those taken care of. Now I'm reinstalling and I'm having trouble with the throttle cables. I have them both on but the throttle is slow to return back to zero degrees after I twist it. I'm sure I'm supposed to adjust the cables some how but not exactly sure what to adjust. Any ideas?

Lube the cables and linkages.
