Just a word on the stock seat. Just finished an 8000 mile trip with long times in the saddle, including two iron butts, the SS1000 and BB1500. I got the $20 Walmart gel cushion and the $8 Walmart beads. Put the gel cushion on the seat and the beads on top of that. The combination kept me cool and comfortable. The seat was never an issue in stopping. (Gas mileage at 85 mph was the limiting factor).
For foot position, I thought this was a serious issue. My knees are not that great. But the hiway pegs were enough to allow me to stretch when I wanted, and the foot position was fine.

All was well.
