I have a brown seat that came with the bike I am restoringI need to change to black, other than A new cover, does anyone know if I can die it or any other less costly way to change the color. Thanks Tim:action:

If you're any good with a sewing machine you could get upholstery vinyl in the color you want, then rip the seams out of your old seat cover to use as a pattern, sew, install, and you're done.

I have had good success with vinyl paint. The seat on mine was black, changed to brown. Its lasted nicely for 10k. The PO did it, and said the key is to do lots of light misty coats.

timbuck, if you can't find anything that will work, make a trip up here with the seat and I will take you buy a guys shop that did my Dad's seat. Very reasonable and did a fantastic job........just another option.

Look for a product called Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric Coating. Comes in a rattle can, think my wife found it at Wal-Mart. Worked great for us when we used it on our 1200 seat.
