My bike hadn't been run for a few months before I got it. And I have only started twice before I did the poor boy conversion. I got it out today for it's longest ride with me that is. I let it warm up first the off we went.
It needs a lot of gas to get going from a stop ? but I'm holding off fixing anything until I can get a few tankfuls through it. I did notice near the end of ride. The idle came up from 1100 to 1400. Seem to run slighltly better overall even after a short ride. The temp never got over 4 bars but its only 55 degree's out today.Where should the temp gauge stay at 3-4 bars?
I did hear a couple if thumps from the motor sounded kind of like a miss? but not sure?
The idle now bounces from 1100-1400 rpm.
I can tell you when you get the rpms up the motor makes some fun power. :)
I'm very impressed on well the bikes pulls through 1st and 2nd gear. Just hope the idle and lack of low rpm goes away.
Btw I took my 1986 750vfr out right afterwards even though its a faster bike it still felt like a toy compaired to the gl1200. I think I'm addicted now :D

Yes my old suzuki 750 had 100hp and weighted in at 480 pounds. So you could leave a stop at idle if you wanted to. With the goldwing to get it to go without bogging down I have to get the rpms to at least 2k and if I want it to really go closer to 3500rpm plus. I wont have a chance to ride again for about 5 days. I have to go out of town for work. Now I want to ride it more :)
Thanks again for the help and the CD that was very cool !

Ron,
Go easy on it for now no jack rabbit starts keep rpms @ 1000-2000 below red line to free up the motor. Let the Seafoam do its job and don't try to "Blow it out" the clutch will last longer as it has not had the oil bath to it in a while. EASY BROTHER!
Great adivce thanks and I agree I just had to see what would happen, I can't start off at what I'd call a normal or lower rpm or it dies. Anything below 1500rpm and it shakes trying to leave from a start.
