I had the same question a short while ago, and came to the conclusion that enough people have had good experiences with GWRRA that I decided to give them a shot. Yes, I also read some negative reports also, but I tend to give people and organizations the benefit of the doubt.
I have only had one experience so far with the GWRRA, and it was very positive. As soon as I joined, it was time for the state picnic and I decided to go. I had great time and met some good people that I hope to do some riding with in the near future. Time will tell if the wife and I decide to stay with GWRRA or not.
Just my .02 cents worth.
