in another post philcsand said to look under the left hand cover, find the white plastic thing cut the yellow wires and soldier them together. i am sure there is a very good reason for this. could somebody explain.:baffled:thanks, i can use all the help I can get since this is my first wing.

While your there, check on the right side of the battery, the main fuse and starter solenoid are there under a black plastic boot. Pull the boot up and lift the flap covering the main fuse,check for heat damage, if this area fails the bike stops, period!! Most of us along with removing the connector with the yellow wires, replace the main fuse with a automotive spade fuse and holder. I don't know if it has been mentioned, but the single most important accessory for this era of bike is a volt meter. Good Luck
