I have inherited my father-in-laws Kawasaki Bayou 220 ATV and the starter has gone out. I have removed several parts getting to the starter, but I believe I have to also remove part of the side cover to completely remove it, but I was wondering if there was another way. I was hoping I would not have to remove the engine like you have to do on my gl 1200.

I have searched the web looking for information on removing it, but have not found any. I was trying to avoid buying a manual. Soooooooo, I was wondering if anybodymay knowa link that I have not been able to find that would tell me how to remove the starter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Buying a manual is perfectably acceptable as long as there are no road maps in it!:cooldevil:
