Last week the speedometer on my 1100 started to squeel, and jump eratticaly.
I lubed the cable to isolate the problem And no I'm sure it's the speeometer bearings Haven't tried to open it yet, Ive learned to look here befor trying something I'm unsure of. Any one tried this before .. Thanks..

hi, yes. i have tried it.. and in a word don't.. there are to many things that could go wrong with the process. plus, you need to open the case with a special tool..
there is a great speedo shop in san diego ca that i sent mine too..excellent.. do a search on this group on speedo repair and it shoud pop up.. if not i will try to run down the name and address for you...

There is no need to take a speedometer apart because it is squealing. It is just the bushing where the cable connects that is dry. Mix some dry graphite with a light machine oil and put a little on the bushing and let it soak in for a while with the speedo face down.
