Is there a replacement speedo cable that comes with a metallic housing that mounts to the speedo gear housing at thespeedo gear hub?. The one that was on my 1100 was made of plastic. looks as though a crack had formed in the side. and the cable dislodged itself. It seems metal would be much better housing for the cable... PO may have replaced it with the cheapest speedo cable to be found.

So, i suppose i can stop looking?.. I can get a replacement for $23.00. Through Sabre Cycle. There is a lot of stuff i wont buy from them like gaskets, seals, etc. mostly all the critical parts. But i feel safe that just a speedo cable should not be much of a problem. Since they all have plastic outer housings like you have indicated.... I have a girlfriend who seems more concerned that i presently have no speedometer!. The way i see it, she is the passenger, i am the one who controls the bike. Aint none of her business how fast the bike is going!.. I guess she thinks that she should be concerned about how fast a jet is flying?.. I have been using the RPM's to judge my speed. At least that will be something she can never understand.... Women... Go Figure !.

LOL!!! I understand that, they should just sit back and enjoy the ride:cooldevil: Before Sabercycle, try Venco wings or cyclemax of Ohio and see what prices they have.

Also hdlparts.com has the speedometer cable for $15.13.

Cyclemax is about a two hour ride for me.. South of Cleveland on I-71.. so that could be where i go to save on shipping.

Stick a cheap GPS on it and let her watch it.
