when i go to bike in morning bike is squeaking back and frontwhen getting out of garage. it goes after a few miles.. does anything need greasing suspension or anything like thatif so where do i grease the bike rides fine and handles wellno bottoming out front or rear.. and brakes work perfect no sticking.. i have used bike over winter but only a few times.. just changed plugs filters oils.. ready for another year on the wing... souds like an old squeakey bed in morning..any help would be great.... regards..jim :waving::waving::waving:

It could be just the brake pads sqealing at first until you get going a bit

Sounds like you might have a siezed brake caliper, it keeps a little presure on the brake pads and rotter. Next time you have the bike on the centre stand ,try turning the rear wheel by hand, if it is hard to turn and squeaks ,that's the problem. If not lift the front wheel off the ground and try the same to it.

I sometimes hear my tires squeak on the smooth concrete floor in my garage.
Maybe that is what you're hearing. My squeaks appear when I push the bike back and forth to wiggle it out of the garage.

I agee with g-townram, my tires squeek in the garage too. The softer they are the louder the squeek.
Can you better descibe this sqeek noise?

It may be either, brakes or tires.
Next time you take it out, put a nice thick layer of moly-grease on both of the tires and all three brake rotors.
I think that will end your problems! :cooldevil::cheeky1::gunhead:

I think everyones got this one cracked, I agree sounds like brakes. Mine were stuck on and did the same thing some time ago. :waving:

Mine does the same. To me, it sounds like it is coming from the rear shocks or swing arm. I'm not sure what it is. It is most prevelent when the bike has been sitting for a while. Once I mount I hear it when place all my weight on the saddle.



It is not affecting performance so I just let it sqeak.

When it is sqeeking next time just put you brakes on lightly and if the squeel goes away then that is it!

I cant get out of a chair these days without sounding like something out of a porn movie

Try lubing the speedo cable also.Mine was a noisey bugger until I did .

Hi midwing , it only gets worse and then it stops because everything is worn past wear out. Keep on biking, that will be a sure solution.



Brakes especially front pick up fine dirt particles and when the disk is rotated backwards under slow speed they cause vibration, thus squeal. Rear can do it also, the cons of disk brakes---go forward and the crap is gone , rubbing of disk and pads clean off the crap and rebuild again till the next backwards, leaning movement. Never go backwards

It's a noisy chain. Clean it with a can of propwash first, and lube with OliveOyl.

my bike is making the squeek you are talking about. i can push up and down on the rear while it is on sidestand and it groans and squeeks, im sure it is the shocks, i havent removed my seat to observe if there is any way to get some wd40 on the shock shafts, but i bet if i can it will go away. it is on a wood floor so i am sure it is not my tires.

Might be your wife squeeking because you are riding too much! lol... I had the same prob. yep, it was the tires on the garage floor.

Might be where the swing arm is attached to the frame. My 1100 makes the same noise. I just haven't gotten around to pinpointing the source.
