I have recently installed a type II clarion radio intercom on my wifes 1100. What I am wondering is can I hook a standard CB into it. Has anybody ever done this or seen it done. If so any clues to how It would hook up.

Thanks

Boy, it's been twenty years since I've messed with a Type II radio,

When you say "I have recently installed a type II clarion radio intercom on my wifes 1100", does that mean that the bike had the Clarion Type II radio on it and you added the intercom junction box, (The piece with the auxillary inputs i.e. Intercom, Cassteet Deck, C.B.)

I don't recall anyone except Honda making a "Kit" to add a C.B. and they were rare in their day, early '80's.

If anyone may have a clue as how to integrate a C.B. into the Type II it would be either J&M Corp

or Sierra Electronics

It seems that since J&M came out with their all in one handlebar mounted unit, everyone else just sells that.

I bought the bike with no radio. I bought the radio, harnesses, amp, intercom, Cassete, speakers and Dash meters all on Ebay. The controller has inputs for the CB but I haven't been able to locate a Clarion CB for it. I would rather have a clarion type 2 but if all else fails adapt.

Wow, you are persistant to go through all that.

I remember in the '80's working at the Honda shop, it was difficult finding the parts then.

Continue the search for the Type II. Try the salvage yards. Did you see the post about the salvage yard that specializes in 4 cylinder Gold wings in San Antonio ?

"Get ahold of Smitty (Al) down in Seguin. Near San Antonio. His number is 830-560-1872. He said I could post his number. He parts out 4 cylinder Goldwings exclusively.

Raymond"

Markland may have made an adapted Midland unit that plugged into the Intercom, with a "Y"

If I remember correctly it was one of those all in the Mic. units.

Keep looking at Ebay. Several months ago I bought a NEW Clarion Type II CB kit. I was very lucky to win that auction. Another new/used one will show up on Ebay.
