Starter button stuck

I took the switch apart but can not see why it will not depress,has anyone ever had this to happen.

Can it be cleaned or will I need a new switch?

I can only start it by shorting the solenoid.

Are there any alternative switches I could use ?

If it's still apart try shooting some WD40 in it. It should lossen up. I just did that to all my switches last week and they work great now.

There's a spring in there that might be broken, or just worn. Pull the button apart. It can be fixed.

my flasher switch did not came lose using wd 40 but until i had it all apart , cleaned and greased it.
